The whole of it of course
is cobbled together from memory -
yours and mine -
its place settings bronzed
and listed on eBay
with a blowout Buy It Now
prompting an EMT
to weigh in, followed
by a herd of multi-linguists
who in another life
were born-again bookmakers.
Most of us, however,
continue to live off the land,
feigning interest,
bellying up to the bar
in the final quarter
trying to second guess the meaning
of the hand-printed sign
hanging in the restroom
above the rightmost urinal.
